TLC – The Cruelty Free Way

Hello Everyone! I am so sorry it has taken me so long to post something new for you all. I have actually been working on this for a little while but since I have converted to all cruelty free products, I wanted to make sure I share only my absolute favorites.

Taking care of ourselves on the inside by eating well and working out is of course super important but so is how we care for ourselves on the outside. Our skin is our biggest organ so why not keep it healthy and soft and glowing!

I am actually going to start with what I do at nighttime and then morning:

Whether or not I wore makeup that day, I wash my face with the Pacifica Kale Detox Deep Cleaning Face Wash. This has become my absolute favorite facial wash and it is completely vegan! I have very sensitive skin but I like knowing my face is getting cleaned and this product is very gentle but also leaves my face feeling fresh without over drying it.

I also love using this little purple scrubby thingy twice a week or on days I wear more makeup to make sure I am getting all the gunk out.

Once a week, typically on Sundays, I use the Mario Badescu Strawberry Face Scrub to gently scrub away any dead skin cells. Whether or not you have sensitive skin you should be extra careful about scrubs because you don’t want to over scrub and damage your skin or wash away healthy skin cells. I also started using this scrub on my underarms and feet to keep those areas nice and soft too. Best part of this scrub is that it smells absolutely delicious!

If my face is breaking out or if I just came back from an outdoors trip for then I will also use the Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Paper Mask, which I highly recommend! After 15 minutes I gently pull away the mask, let my skin finish soaking up anything left behind and mist Mario Badescu Facial Spray.

For toner I use Thayers Natural Remedies Witch Hazel with a cotton ball. I fell in love with this product the second after I first used it. Toners are important to use because they remove oil and traces of dirt and grime that we do not want sitting on our faces, especially if you have oily or acne-prone skin. This product not only leaves my skin feeling so fresh but also so clean. I let is dry on my skin and then move on to moisturizing…

I actually have not tested very many cruelty free night moisturizing creams. Instead I have been using almond oil under my eyes because giiirrrrllll, I have developed some dark under eyes after turning 26 and I am not happy about it and almond oil is especially helpful to reducing those. Then I use jojoba oil for everywhere else on my face and lips. If I have any blemishes then I use Tea Tree Oil Serum as it is an antioxidant and will diminish those blemishes.

Then I just let those good oils sit in my face overnight and wake up with my skin feeling much more soft and a little more radiant.

Yes – this routine does take me a good 15-20 minutes but it is so worth it!

In the morning all I do is wash my face with only water or use the Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Facial Wipes. I don’t use any soap in the morning because my face is already clean and I don’t want to dry out my face with too much product. The other facial wipes pictured below, T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Facial Wipes, I first used camping for Coachella and I absolutely loved how clean and fresh they left my face. I use these typically on days I wear a little more makeup before washing my face or on days my rosacea flares a bit and they have worked out very well for me.

As a morning moisturizer I always use sunscreen. I have been using Goddess Garden Organics for my face and SunBum for the rest of my skin. Whether it is going to be 80 degrees and super sunny or 50 degrees and cloudy, sunscreen is always necessary! UV rays can go through clouds, even stronger at times with overcast whether, and those rays are responsible for early aging of your skin. While I think aging is a beautiful part of life, pre-mature aging is 100% avoidable – especially when it can cause skin damage.

Next, I proceed with my makeup for the day routine.

As for the rest of skin, I use the Raw Sugar Pure Bath Soap. I don’t even know how I found this but I am so happy I did! It is the only cruelty free soap of the many I tried that leaves my skin feeling so clean and so soft, plus it smells really good and does not have any unnecessary ingredients.

I don’t use intensive skin scrubs too often, but when I do, I am a huge lover of Frank Body Coffee Scrub! This was my first time using their limited time shimmer scrub and as usual, Frank did not disappoint.

I moisturize using either coconut oil or Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Body Lotion. Nothing fancy but my skin tends to get very dry – especially in the winter – and these products have worked best for me.

So for our biggest organ, that is how I take care of mine 🙂

I also get a lot of compliments on my hair so I will briefly share what I do with that as well.

I recently dyed the bottoms of my hair pink so I use coconut oil once to twice a week to keep it shiny and soft. Typically I either let it sit for a few hours before showering or I’ll leave it in overnight.

For washing, I use Renpure Advanced Bamboo Coconut Water Shampoo and Conditioner. Honestly,  amazing products! They leave my hair smelling and feeling so good! I of course shower every day, but I only wash my hair twice a week. It took some training but finally got my hair to stop getting too oily in-between. Especially for dyed hair, over washing will strip all the good oils in your hair, which will leave it brittle and more vulnerable for split ends.

Currently because my hair is dyed, I do use purple shampoo for toning and then the pink shampoo to keep my pink, pink.

Went to Paul Mitchell’s School as all their products are cruelty free 🙂

So there ya have it! The tender, care and love I give to my skin and hair. These products are helpful and have no additional harmful funky ingredients but again I am going to remind you that what we feed ourselves in the inside will reflect our outside too. Drinking a lot of water everyday and eating your greens will be a big help to your skin and hair so don’t forget to include those to your daily TLC routine.

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your day! Until next time

*You can purchase most of these products at your local Target 🙂

I don’t have Facebook or IG, but if you like my posts and are on that social media train, please share with your loved ones!

Thank you all for your continued support

xx
