Wow, this year went by super quickly! These past three months have been a little uneventful only because I have been super busy with school – hence my horrible lack of writing. That isn’t to say, however, that I did share some beautiful times with my family, which I am very grateful for.
October is always crazy for me because both my siblings and my niece were born this month. This year we decided to throw my nieces 2nd birthday and my brothers 8th birthday together and my mom – with some help – had a Fiesta themed party at her house. The decorations were mostly hand-made by my mom and it turned out to be absolutely beautiful! We, of course, had Mexican food, and meatless options for me as well 🙂
In addition, October wouldn’t be October without a pumpkin patch! Kelvi and I took my sister and the babies to the Hello Kitty Pumpkin Patch and it was a lot of work chasing after a 2-year-old but it was fun and super cute!
November was also a lovely time celebrating birthdays. We all got together again, this time at my Nina’s house to celebrate my grandma’s birthday. Look at how cute and happy she looks!
It’s moments with family that, for me, mean more than anything in the world. I come from a very family oriented environment on my mom’s side and I feel so lucky to be a part of that. It was definitely a night full of love, laughter, and good food.
In November, we also celebrated my lovely cousin’s birthday by going to a new music festival in Long Beach, Tropicália. They had many different taco places there, including this delicious place called MexVegana who makes all her dishes vegan and honestly, best tacos ever! She has this one that is a sushi taco and it was absolutely delicious. Click on the link and check her out and if she’s ever in your area, I strongly recommend you going!
Lastly, in December I studied my butt off and got all A’s for the semester, which I am actually really proud of. Sadly, I did work on Christmas but I was able to enjoy it a few days earlier with my mom and then Kelvi and I celebrated Christmas Eve Eve by going light-watching and exchanged gifts we made for each other.
I don’t typically make new years resolutions but I do choose or write an affirmative statement to keep close to me on days where I need that extra pick me up. I also practice a spiritual cleanse at the end and the start of every year. I set up three candles, for balance, close my eyes and reflect on the year I had and what I want to accomplish and work on. This year I want to accomplish continuing having a 4.0 and I want to work on my patience, empathy, and I believe practicing kindness every single day is important.
I hope you all have a most wonderful New Years! Please share any goals, accomplishments or resolutions you plan on making for 2018, I’d love to hear about them.
Until next time,
